Hi Tanngales. You are under medicated so its good that your dose has been increased. Is there a reason why your doc didnt just increase to 75mcg daily? You need to aim to get your thyroid hormones in top third of range or even near the top for some people & your TSH below 1. Is your GP going to see you again in 6-8weeks?
Tanngales,
TSH is high and FT4 less than halfway through range so I think your GP could have increased dose to 75mcg daily. Make sure you have a follow up thyroid test in 6-8 weeks in case dose needs further adjustment.
The goal of Levothyroxine is to restore the patient to euthyroid status. For most patients that will be when TSH is 0.3 - 1.0 with FT4 in the upper range. FT4 needs to be in the upper range in order that sufficient T3 is converted. Read Treatment Options in thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_... Email dionne.fulcher@thyroiduk.org if you would like a copy of the Pulse article to show your GP.
When you have your next blood test ask for ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate to be tested. They are commonly low in hypothyroid patients and musculoskeletal pain, fatigue and low mood similar to hypothyroid symptoms are common.
Looks like your Dr has increased your Levothyrozine gradually, to see what your next bloods read, next will be 100 daily, you will soon know when it’s low due to symptoms. As for the Tramadol some people are very sleepy with it, others don’t have much effect, so try only one every 6hrs rather than the norm which is 2 every four hrs upto 8 a day, try not to rely on them as they can be addictive and cause issues when stopping them, might be a viral infection causing your pains, rest, plenty fluids and hopefully you will feel better soon. x
