Concordia overcharged Britain’s health service millions of pounds

Not sure if this has been posted before or not. Reuters has a story from Nov 21 on the subject. PR

"The National Health Service spent 34 million pounds ($45 million) on liothyronine tablets last year, up from 600,000 pounds a decade ago, after Concordia increased the price per pack by almost 6,000 percent from 4.46 pounds to 258.19 pounds."

CMA Chief Executive Andrea Coscelli said: ”Pharmaceutical companies which abuse their position and overcharge for drugs are forcing the NHS - and the UK taxpayer - to pay over the odds for important medical treatments.

“We allege that Concordia used its market dominance in the supply of liothyronine tablets to do exactly that.”

Long time no see, PR4NOW. I hope you are well?

The CMA provisional decision was all over the UK press, radio and television last week. A final decision is awaited after the 3 companies are given some time to respond to the CMA's provisional decision.

Clutter, I am well and working 40 hours a week which pretty much is all I accomplish. PR

The 'powers that be' were happy about the increase as it gave them the potential to stop prescribing T3 altogether, land withdrawn instantly eaving so many people in the lurch by withdrawing it without any warning. They still insist that levo is preferable despite many not recovering or symptoms being relieved by levothyroxine.

Nice to hear from you and hope you are well.

My goodness - 40 to 50 miles a week - your thyroid hormone is obviously excelling :) You definitely need a nap at the end of each day.
