Lisa31SW,

There's no difference in the hyperthyroidism. Graves thyrotoxicosis means your hyperthyroidism has been caused by autoimmune thyroiditis overstimulating your thyroid gland. Hyperthyroid patients can expect remission 12-18 months after being on anti-thyroid drugs but remission fails in more than 50% of patients with Graves antibodies.

Did the itching start before or after you were prescribed Carbimazole?

Lisa31SW,

If you've always had it, it won't to be related to Graves and hyperthyroidism and your GP should do more investigations.

Lisa31SW,

If it got worse since you started taking Carbimazole tell your doctor and ask about Propylthiouracil (PTU) which is a second choice anti-thyroid drug because it can raise liver enzymes.
