Thyroid storm???

So had a huge stress and trauma in my life and also had a bad case of vertigo which freaked me out after started to get massive anxiety trembling nausea insomnia n my brain just worries none stop pin going on three really bad days gone to hospital they say it’s anxiety. Could I be having a thyroid storm my last blood test my tsh was 2.41 that was six days ago. How would I know for sure???

Most often, a thyroid storm occurs in someone who has too much thyroid hormone. That is, they are hyperthyroid. It would be unusual to have a TSH as high as 2.41 AND be hyperthyroid. That TSH would usually indicate hypothyroid.

Having said that, a TSH test alone is utterly inadequate for diagnosing thyroid storm.

The NHS says:

Thyroid storm

In rare cases, an undiagnosed or poorly controlled overactive thyroid can lead to a serious, life-threatening reaction called a thyroid storm.

This is a sudden flare-up of symptoms that can be triggered by:

an infection

pregnancy

not taking your medication correctly

damage to the thyroid gland, such as a punch to the throat

Symptoms of a thyroid storm include:

a rapid heartbeat

a high temperature (fever) over 38C (100.4F)

diarrhoea and vomiting

yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice)

severe agitation and confusion

loss of consciousness

A thyroid storm is a medical emergency. If you think you or someone in your care is experiencing it, call 999 for an ambulance immediately.

Yes I agree I function best with tsh of 1 but I got sick a week ago with vertigo and tinnitus and they said could be a virus then on Monday when I was just tired starting to move more something very stressful happened and I have had insomnia and anxiety panic attack k everyday I get worse today I can’t get out of bed shortness of breath Nassau anxiety beyon exhusstion it’s crazy can ur thyroid cause this and do I just up my meds to fix it ????
