Welcome to our forum,
You haven't given any hypo history on your profile, i.e. when diagnosed: with what i.e. hypothyroidism, hashimoto's. medication you've been taking.
We know many have had T3 withdrawn but were you also taking levothyroxine so what has your GP suggested as an alternative.
Were your blood tests at the very earliest possible time, fasting and a gap of 24 hours between last dose of hormones and the test? If not your results may not be accurate.
Sorry yes I have hashimoto I was taking 75 thyroxine 10 t3 .
My doctor stopped giving me t3
Fir the last month I've been taking alternate 75/100 t4
It is obviously not the correct dose for you as your FT4 is too high and your FT3 bottom of the range which would suggest to me you cannot convert T4 into sufficient T3.
10mcg of T3 the only Active hormone is equal to around 30mcg of T4, and it has been replaced with 25mcg of T4. I think you need a higher dose, and bear in mind I'm not medically qualified but couldn't get better on levo only.
Doctors have been told to stop prescribing T3 due to the cost of neary £300 per month. Some members source their own T3. I have no details. If you want information put up another post requesting a Private Message to be sent to you of details.
Ok thank you for your reply
Have you had vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 checked? These are very often too low with Hashimoto’s
Post results if you have them, especially since T3 stopped they are often dire
See SeasideSusie detailed vitamin supplement advice
Hashimoto’s affects the gut, causing low stomach acid, low vitamin levels and extremely common as well is gluten intolerance
Changing to strictly gluten free diet helps many patients significantly
Suggest you print this off - see pages 3 & 5-8. Take into GP, write to your MP too

Also there is recent British Thyroid Association statement re in appropriate removal of T3
See ITT Facebook group - someone could email it to you
No I havnt had any vitamins tested
I'm just not sure about those results can't understand why ths is low yet the t4 is high
Can anyone explain this
Thank you all
TSH is produced by the pituitary gland (it's not a thyroid hormone) to make the thyroid output more hormones. Your TSH is not particularly low even though your FT4 is high. Some people's TSH level seems to be more influenced by the amount of FT4 produced; others by FT3. But basically TSH goes in the opposite direction from your thyroid hormones. so higher FT4 = lower TSH
It isposible to reverse this problem on bad conversion but it takes time. You need to have tests done for Vit D, B12, folate and ferritin. These all have to be optimal, not just in range to work to help your conversion. Doctors tend to think I'd in range you are ok but this isn't correct. You can buy the supplements yourself and raise the levels but you may have to work out a maintenance dose to keep them there. Then have your levels retested and let us know your readings so we can advise if you. We'd to tweak your dose a little. It doesn't happen overnight. It took me 4-6 months to get them all right but it's well worth the effort. The time can vary as it depended on how bad the problem is.
Doctors aren't very good at looking at amount you should be taking either but look at SeaSide Susie'spost for very good information on that.
