You have a chance. Also get them to check your iodine levels as we are iodine deficient here in UK and that is another huge link to miscarriage. You need an increased amount in pregnancy sometimes up to 50% as the thyroid increases in size in pregnancy but especially in iodine deficient countries.

What about your thyroid antibodies? If you have there is also something called natural killer cells which can cause a problem (naturally in our bodies) but sometimes cause a problem.

Look up Mr Shehata at the Epsom fertility clinic for information.

Good luck! X

It is difficult to say but I hope everything will be o.k. The aim, I believe, is a TSH of around 2.

When your next blood test is due, it must be the earliest, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between your last dose of levo and the test and take afterwards. The TSH is highest early a.m. and drops throughout the day and that is the only number the doctor looks at, so I believe.

Also ask for B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate.

Mich87,

Has Levothyroxine dose been increased since pregnancy was confirmed?

Mich87,

You should be fine. The goal is to get TSH <2.5.

Yes this new dose should do the job ,, just hope the baby is okay until it "kicks in"

Mich87,

The baby will be stealing your thyroid hormone blind. It will be you who's short of hormone until you've absorbed the dose increase which takes 7-8 days.

I can handle feeling like crap as long as baby is ok

I've been tired for so long I'm used to it lol

Mich87,

Try to enjoy your pregnancy. You should both be okay with the dose increase but ask for thyroid test 6 weeks after increasing dose to be sure.

Mich87 Everything crossed for you and your baby. I know the heartache of thyroid related miscarriages as I have four grandbabies that didn't take breath due to this. Sending best wishes for a successful pregnancy and healthy baby.

The only thing keeping me sane is

- it's not as high as it had been. Last pregnancy I lost tsh was 59 by 4 weeks..

- I've caught it early

- immediate increase
