Hi All. I had my thyroid removed years ago after years of undiagnosed illnesses. I was put on levothyroxine but didn't really get much better. I was eventually given Erfa thyroid and felt as though a switch had been flicked. So much better straight away. I was just left with the breathless problem that had dogged my life for a long time.
I'm trying to give all of the facts, but a short version!
While I had undiagnosed thyroid problems, I had severe digestion problems. This went on for years.
I eventually figured that my breathing issues were food related. I was sent to an allergist. He said I was allergic to all of the foods but he thought my problems stemmed from the gut.
So all of that has been going on a while. I also noticed that whenever I start going to the gym, my body very quickly becomes overworked. After about 10 days, I was wired and hardly sleeping. It was very odd.
So, I try and put all of my problems together. My body seems incapable of handling any stress.
Any thoughts anyone? I'm trying my hardest to get as well as I can but the obstacles keep getting put in front of me!

Hi. I had Hashimotos. I had two large growths on one side and lots of small growths on the other. My TSH was 1.8. People had been telling me for so long there was nothing wrong with my thyroid. How it was missed is a mystery. When I look back at old photos, my face was so puffy I could hardly see. I had obvious lumps on my neck. Well...only obvious if you looked. The only reason the growths were found was that I asked for an MRI scan, as I knew something was not as it should be. I actually thought I had lung cancer.
Anyway...I have to persuade my Dr I need these tests. Not easy. I left his surgery in tears the last time I was there.
The time I had all of the tests done easily was when I still lived in Germany but having said that, I suffered for years with undetected thyroid problems!

All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after. This gives highest TSH and most consistent results
