Side effects......Levothyroxine

Levothyroxine!! "the devils sweeties"..............have you seen all the side effects from taking this medication? never again ? looking to go back on Erfa again didnt have any problems with that will have to pay for it though £1 per pill get a 100 in the container so 3 of those plus another 65 which will cost £365. (days in the year) i will find it!! anything to feel normal again this has been going on for years? what on earth do they put in these tablets?? i see a lot of us are suffering so much its the LEVOTHROXINE that is causing all the problems....anyone suffering on these do check the side effects from this drug and try to change to a "natural" hugs to all.....just checked 50mg side effects which they dropped me to i have all the effects. 2nd day no medication how strange to feel normal, we will see.

But did you experience any of them? All medications have some side effects for some people, it doesn't mean to say we will all experience them. I've been taking Levo for 40-odd years and never once experienced any side effects.

Do you take paracetamol or asprin for headaches - those have side effects, like everything else.

That is a very sweeping and scaremongering statement. A lot of problems are caused by being undermedicated on thyroid hormone, low nutrient levels, poor conversion, adrenal problems, low sex hormones, there is so much to this illness and so much has to be balanced for us to get well, you can't blame everything on a medication just because, like all medications, may cause side effects in some people.

I doubt you're taking 50 mg (milligram) dose of Levo, it comes in microgram doses (mcg).

First of all, levo is not a drug. It is a thyroid hormone, T4.

Secondly, the majority of people do very well on levo only. It's just us odd-balls on here - about 25 % of the hypo population - that don't do well on levo, for varying reasons.

Thirdly, those side-effects - which everybody has, by any means - are either down to the fillers, or from taking too much or too little. Not from the hormone itself.

But Erfa has those same fillers. Otherwise, it couldn't be made into a pill. And NDT - not as natural as all that - doesn't suit everybody. Some people are better on synthetic.

Please do not scare-monger like that, and frighten people just starting out on this journey. It isn't fair.
