Hi everyone , can anyone point me in the right direction to obtaining levothyroxine prescription free on-line.My doctor has tested my bloods and he has confirmed i have an underactive thyroid but will not prescribe me any medication as i am borderline. I am so sick of feeling tired even after only being up active for a short period , and have been struggling to keep my weight down for the past year. I have googled and found many places but when i ask for reviews a lot of scam warnings arise.
Please please any help will be appreciated as i feel i am missing out on so much of life at the moment.
Many thanks Dean

Can you get a copy of your blood test results and post them on here. If you are in the UK you are entitled to get them from your surgery. If you've had previous tests see if you can get those results too as it will show if your thyroid is changing.
You may have found the Thyroid UK website which is very useful. This page with the signs and symptoms can be printed out to show your GP.
Post your results and people can comment and advise. Doctors tend to say 'borderline' or 'normal', but what you need is 'optimal'.
Personally I think it would be better if you can persuade your doctor to give you medication, so that you can then be monitored. You may need to see a different doctor.
First thing is do you have any actual blood test results? If not you need to get hold of them. You are entitled under data protection laws.
You may be able to view test results online - ring and ask about this. If you can then apply for online access to your account. All GP practices are supposed to offer this, in reality very few have blood test results available online.
If not then ask for print out of recent tests. Pick up in a day or two. They may make a nominal charge for paper.
You need to know results for TSH, FT4 and FT3.
Do you also have high thyroid antibodies? You need to know. Did GP or Endo ever test these? If not ask that they are tested.
If antibodies are high this is Hashimoto's, (also known as autoimmune thyroid disease). About 90% of hypothyroidism in UK is due to Hashimoto's.
Hashimoto's very often affects the gut, leading to low stomach acid, low vitamin levels and leaky gut.
Low vitamins that affect thyroid are vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12. If they are too low they stop Thyroid hormones working. Have these been tested, if not ask that they are.
Always get actual results and ranges on all blood tests
If you can't get full thyroid and vitamin testing from GP

All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting, this gives highest TSH, which is all many GP's look at
