Hi my 25 year old daughter has restarted her T3 yesterday, taking half a 25mcg tablet each day with her 100mcg levo. She has been getting headaches and increase in body aches, trapped wind, crawling feelings on skin.
Is it likely she has increased too much and too soon? She was taking 100mcg levothyroxine before and diagnosed 2013.
Thank you

I believe if you add t3 to your t4, you might consider decreasing the orginal dose of t4. I had the same experience of body aches without the reduction of t4. Also t3 is better taken twice a day as it has a shorter half life than t4.
Split dosing is a great idea with T3 or NDT . Some even split dose with T4 too . If your daughter was fine with her T4 I would check and see if the fillers in her T3 are causing some reactions . Maybe switching her T3 brand would help resolve her issues . It's also possible that taking a lower dose T3 would help and let your daughter hold it for 2-3 weeks before she raises her T3 dose . Slow and low is the way to go . Let your body acclimate to the new changes . Nutrients are very important to make our thyroid meds work better for us . Selenium Vitamin "D", B-12/folate , Iron if your low . Adrenals must be checked out as well . If there is adrenal insufficiency T3 will unmask it and give you problems to raise it . Adrenal/Cortisol are measured via salvia .
I had similar issues which were due to too much t3. A reduction got me back on track. I did split my dose but now I take it in one dose and benefit i think from a bit more energy in the morning to get things done.
