Decreasing T3

I take 15mcg of T3 right now and have been gradually adding T4 (been on 75mcg almost two weeks now, and was on 50mcg for the month prior). Anyway, my Free t4 levels have been slowly rising from being extremely low due to taking only T3 for 3 months.

My question is, is it likely I will feel badly if I reduce my t3 by 2.5mcg (from 15mcg to 12.5mcg)? Or will the decrease be hardly noticeable? I know t3 is 3-4 times stronger than t4, so I am afraid I will go back to having bad hypo symptoms.

(Side note), I am adding t4 while trying to very gradually reduce my t3 dose, because I am wanting to get pregnant in a few months. And t4 is the most important thyroid hormone for a healthy pregnancy. I do not have a problem converting.)

Eshep,

2.5mcg is a very small dose so you may not notice any difference in symptoms if you reduce.

I seen a specialist and after his explication about the long term bad effects of T3 on your body long term. I just stopped taking T3 all together. And he increased my T4 to do this. I took it on the chin. He was amazed by my can do attitude. But I was determined. In the end he left me on the 150 mm t. Unable to drop it because if he did I felt low. So I have stuck with it and four years have passed. I am healthy strong fit for my age. I have had two GPS trying to lower my T4 but I refuse unless refers back to a specialist. In the end they give up. Because they only treat the numbers when the specialist treated me and how I was feeling

And you believed him? Well, how do normal people manage when their body makes T3? If you managed to cut out natural T3, would they be immortal?

No that’s silly

I believe the specialist who give a valid reason for what they are doing. Which to to help patients long term. Everyone is different and making T3 is natural for everyone. But if you are getting something that you do not need which can harm you in the long run then Yes I believe him. He told me long term use of T3 in my case gave me a high risk of hart issues and bone Density problems.

The thing is you cannot fit yourself into every ones shoes on this web site just take the information that you require. Lots will help you and some will not. As for me I can not believe that people self diagnose and medicate themselves. With important things like thyroxine.

I am a electrician and have seen dangerous results from unqualified people completing electrical installation with little knowledge. Yes I treat the people who have studied for years to become specialists. Than you🌝

We have all been studying for many years to learn everything we can about our illness-our advantage is that we know the effects the medications have because we are the ones taking them!

It is also untruthful to state that T3 will give us bone or heart problems. If you read the articles on the r/hand side in blue. The following is from a doctor who was also a scientist and researcher.
