Hi Ralf

Levo is Levo, if you're not doing well on one brand changing wont help. Consider NDT but google stop thyroid madness first.

Have you any results and ranges you can post for us. There are many reasons why you aren't feeling better. You may not be on the correct dose for you or you may not be converting well. You are still on a lowish dose so how long ago were you diagnosed? It can take months to get sorted but we can all be different but patience is needed.

It you have any recent tests for B12, Vit D, folate and ferritin then please post those and ranges as well as they help the Thyroid work better. Ranfesare always important as they differ from lab to lab so they make it easier to comment as otherwise we would still be guessing.

Some of us are allergic to the fillers so a change of brand can help so do you have any iitchy symptoms or nausea?

Many doctors think if they give you medication it's job done but it's not always that simple. You learn from experience so I'm sure we can help.

Different brands work differently for different people. They are recognised medically as not being bio equivalent

In an ideal world if you are happy on one brand try to always stick on that one.

Ralph1985,

You can expect a 9mm purple (violet) pill instead of a 7mm purple pill. :-)

USA official bioequivalence is a mess. Assume all makes are not equivalent and some people do better on one make than another. People speculate as to why they are different, but I don't think there is any realistic hope of predicting how a change will affect an individual at present. (Unless there is an identifiable ingredient to which someone is intolerant.)

But you do not say anything about blood tests, symptoms, or anything else.

I would up the dose to 100mcg that's what my doctor prescribed to me right from the start and that was a year ago and now my thyroid is back to normal but I still take the levo.

It's very possible that the fillers in Lannett did not agree with you . I was on Synthroid and had many symptoms palpitations ,insomnia, allergies weight issues . I switched to Levoxyl it worked well for a while . It seams that they reformulated again . I'm on Sandoz now it seams to work fine . It has the least fillers . Lets hope they don't reformulate . You might want to try the dye free one . Only the 50mcg come dye free . I wish all the strengths would be dye free . It's something to work on to get the dyes out on all medications . More harm than good come out of it . Dyes have aluminum in it and yellow dye . WHO NEEDS IT ????

Most people find that they do not do weell with a TSH above 1, or even suppressed (which freaks out the doctors).

Ask your doctor if you can have a trial at a higher dose, if not, just get your script early and start taking more and see how it goes.

Yeah Lannett is actually Unithroid, & low bioavailability! Sandoz had been good, but pharmacies can’t get currently due to Hurricanes. I’m having a very tough time with this. Might try Synthroid or a theraputic dose of Iodine. I believe I’m deficient in Iodine according to symptoms and I crave salty food. If deficient in Iodine, anything you take will never be enough. Body needs enough Iodine for numerous reasons.

What do you mean by bioavailability?

Pharmacy switched me to Lannett from Mylan. Four weeks in experiencing brain fog, low appetite and, sluggishness. Reverted to a few extra Mylan tablets I had saved. Now out of those. Pharmacy says Mylan back ordered. Now stuck with my supply of Lannett generic (

Unithroid). Given Lannett is under potent, would you suggest I self dose with a little extra (tiny fraction) each day or week? I paid good money for those little round pink pills of Lannett.
