I have just had a call from my hospital tracks team saying that that i cant been seen in a midlands hospital has they dont have a lipids department there, so they are referring me elsewhere, the lady on the telephone did not know apart from theres no lipids centre but im going for thyroid.enndoc , i dont understand??

If this is a follow-up endo appointment I'd suggest ringing their secretary direct. The number is usually on a previous letter or you can get it from the hospital switchboard.

If it is a new appointment it may well go through a separate referals management centre, and my experience is the Lancs/ Midlands one is useless and often only has partial information.

Maybe call them back and ask what referral information they have been given and what hospital options there are. If you get no joy with them, then your next option is to go back to whoever did the referral, explain, and ask them to re-refer but to include your hospital of choice on the form. Might not work but worth a try.

Midlands always try to send me miles away because the local hospitals flag themselves as 'No capacity' on their systems.

Thankyou majortom yes its a 1st time app its been a total let down from the word go!! I choose wolverhampton as appointments were sooner, originally got app for 10 oct then they cancelled for 3 oct then had a lovely telephone call from tracking to say very sorry but we are cancelling and you have to go to telford prh now as they have a lipids centre there and wolves does not, so i am expecting a call next week from tracks to book me another appointment minium wait again 52 days!! I am seeing doctor next week who originally sent a lettet to wolerhampton endoc for me to be seen as urgent. Did check and they had received nothing

There is nothing urgent about the nhs just wish i could go private on all of these. My lottery ticket has not been good to me.☺
