Overactive thyroid
"I as was toldthe hat I have a overactivethyroid need help please"
If you post some more information we can probably do just that.
Test results with ranges?
Are you on any medication - if so what?
Has dose been changed - if so why, because of symptoms or test results?
Have you had thyroid antibodies tested and were they high? Hashimoto's?
Vitamins and minerals tested?
You seem overwhelmed in this sentence. So the first thing is that doctors will try to scare you. In my experience hyperthyroidism scares them so they pass that fear back to the patient. The cure for the fear is knowledge. Read everything you can, but take it all with a grain of salt (not sea salt 😄). I would start with thyroid uk (gives the nhs party line) and then swiftly move to elaine moore who is an expert
I totally agree with you im hyper and diagnosed a month ago and doctor devasted me with the news-- he pulled his chair around to face me and said"you have hyperthyroidism which isnt good your levels are high and the specialist will want to do all sorts of tests on you, now let me give you some quality of life back" i was very scared i was going to die, repeatley told hyper is way to dangerous. If itvwasnt fir this site calming me down i dont know whatvi would have done. Doctors just like to prove they are god.x
It is so true and the funniest part is they are usually completely ignorant on the subject. I spend my appointmemts educating them on the subject. Ask your doctor to describe the exact autoimmune action down to t cells n see that smirk disappear pretty feckin fast!
I like it! Couple of weeks back i had a call from doctor has he did not know what bloods he needed for thyroid function tests and did not know what he was looking for on his screen that suggested that antibodies had been taken!! He said he would get me a appointment so i could take a look at his computer screen. You just cant believe it. I had to write down the tests tsh etc so he could order them. Unbelievable.
😂😂😂😒 Exactly what I'm talking about. It'd be just so funny if these weren't the people making decisions that change lives permenantly!
Its true knowledge is power and trusting some medicsl proffessional with what little experience they have, no way! When i was at the hospital a few days ago i was told by a very snooty nurse that doctors know everything about thyroids her words were "its bread and butter to them" i said ok it should be simple as that but its not!! I thought think what you like darling but youre soòooooò wrong.😆
I am hypothyroid so cannot help but below are links which will explain it clearly and those who are hyper will also respond.

Hyper means your thyroid gland is sending out too many hormones which give unpleasant symptoms and I assume it must be very scary.
