I previously felt very well although I had very high levels of T3 when I was first diagnosed but the block and replacement therapy for 8 years then the RAI have knocked the stuffing out of me. I have never been offered T3 but always felt something was missing. I ache all over, am depressed (diagnosed with IBS & Fibromyalgia) but only Levo prescribed (225mcg per day).
Also am concerned as my 18 year old daughter has recently been diagnosed with Graves and looks like the Endocrinologists will treat her the same way. She has the same symptoms as I do. Any thoughts?

If you post your most recent thyroid results and ranges we can advise whether you are optimally dosed on 225mcg.
Your daughter should know that if she is comfortable taking Carbimazole there is no reason why she should not have Carbimazole titration or Block and Replace for decades. Recent research has shown that any adverse effects are likely to be experienced during the first 90 days.
You will find that almost everybody who has lost their own thyroid gland do not, and never will, feel well on levo alone - a simple, undeniable fact of life.
There are 2 ways out of the situation, one is combined T3/T4 treatment (or T3 on its own), the other is the natural product, NDT, brand names include Armour, Thyroid-S and Thiroyd.
