Without some thyroid function test results and the reference ranges we can't really advise what you should do.

Your exhaustion in the morning and having more energy at night could be caused by deranged cortisol levels i.e. your results could be too high or too low, or they could be high/low at the wrong times of day. But before worrying about cortisol, you should concentrate on your thyroid results and your nutrient levels.

Ask your doctor to test TSH, Free T4, Free T3, thyroid antibodies, vitamin B12, folate, vitamin D and ferritin/iron. How many of them your doctor will actually do is anyone's guess. But if you don't ask you definitely won't get. Once you've been tested ask for a copy of the results and reference ranges, post them on here and ask for feedback.

If you can't get the tests done that you want, then ask on here about private testing. It doesn't involve a doctor, and is probably cheaper than you imagine.
