Cytoplan B12

I have recently purchased Cytoplan's B12 sublinguals (500 Methyl' / 500 Adenos') as the brand I have previously used (Solgar 1000) has sky rocketed in price.

I am having problems getting them to dissolve under my tongue, I can wait for 20mins+ and they don't dissolve as such, they just disintegrate into a 'sandy' texture that goes nowhere, just sits in my mouth until eventually I have to wash it down.

I have emailed Cytoplan but as yet have not had a response, so I wondered if anyone else has the same issue.

I see Jarrows is also a brand recommended on TUK and wonder if anyone has a good experience with that?

As always....thank you. ☺

Janey1234,

I found Jarrows Formula effective but they take a long time to dissolve too.

Thanks Clutter .... how long, roughly, do you find the Jarrows take to dissolve and do they go gritty too?

Janey1234,

Easily longer than 20mins. I usually end crunching up the remainder.

I just googled Jarrows (yellow label 1000mcg) and it does say you can put under the tongue or chew so I guess that formulation still works if it's chewed / swallowed rather than 'sublingualed' 😊I will give these a go if I can't get the Cytoplan version sorted.

Thanks for your time Clutter

I use that Cytoplan B12, am on my second bottle - batch number 162528. They dissolve well enough for me, not quite as quickly as the Solgar but no longer than a minute I'd say. I agree they do have a slight gritty texture compared with Solgar.

I have asked Cytoplan if they think there's possibly something wrong with mine (no reply yet). 20mins + is a long time to wait and it's only because I end up moving it from under my tongue after that time that it breaks up into the gritty bits. Those gritty bits still then don't dissolve so I have to have a drink. I've only taken 3 so far.

I wonder if there's a glitch with your batch. Is it a different number from mine (label on bottom of bottle)?

I bought 3 in their 3 for 2 offer. My batch number is 164560. Hopefully they will respond with a possible reason. Had high hopes with these as Solgar have quadrupled in price ☺

Do let me know what they say Janey. I always buy mine when on 3 for 2. Hopefully it's just a blip in production and they will replace them for you.

I certainly will report back if they respond. Thanks for your replies too SeasideSusie

I've used jarrows 5000mcg ones for a while and I like them, but I'd say they take 40+ minutes to dissolve, longer if I don't move them around

Wow! 40 mins!! I already worry about the long term effects that 20mins+ of tablet could have on my teeth as well as wondering if the actual B12 is working. 40 mins is crazy ☺

I hadn't thought about it like that! They definitely work though, my B12 is always off the scale now so I've dropped down!

When I googled Jarrows earlier it said you can chew as well as sublingual so if Solgar remain so extortianately prices, I will give them a try, but chew. 😊

It shouldn't affect your teeth, it shouldn't actually come into contact with your teeth if you take it sublingually then it dissolves and gets straight into the bloodstream through the tiny blood vessels under the tongue.

I agree....the Solgar ones were gone in seconds, never touched my teeth but these Cytoplan ones just aren't dissolving at all under my tongue. It's only when I have to move it (or I'd be sat here all day) that it falls apart into a gritty mess, which then just sits around my mouth and teeth still doing nothing. It doesn't taste particularly pleasant at that stage either.

Gosh, I really don't understand it. I've had bottles from two different batches and mine dissolve in about a minue or so. Gritty - yes, and the solgar tasted sweeter and dissolved quicker, but I've certainly not had your experience. Something definitely wrong.

It does seem odd. I'll see what Cytoplan say but I won't continue with them as they really are unpleasant.

I was wondering the same! I had been using Solgar, which dissolves quickly and tastes nice. Decided to give cytoplan a try and the sublingual b12 are a disappointment for me - like you, I find they take ages to dissolve and then there's a lot of grit still left behind🙁 My batch is the same as SeasideSusie's so there may be more to it than one dodgy batch. Also got mine in the 3 for 2 offer and once I've used them up I will go back to Solgar.

Well at least it's not just me but interesting that despite a different batch number, we are both experiencing a longer dissolve time and the grittiness. I will also go back to Solgar if I can't get this resolved. Not sure I can bear 3 bottles of grit 😊Thanks for sharing your experience.

Jarrows dissolved reasonably quickly, currently using NuU which are UK made and cheaper and go fast but I have also wondered about teeth

Hi - I take vitamin B12 bioactive drops on the tongue - one drop a day. Vegensafe. 0nline

Global Healing.

My grand daughter has vitilogo and has a streak of white hair, which has grown out to a natural colour after four months of taking the vitamin - so I can see it has worked for her.

You may have to pay an import charge of 16 pounds from uk customs as well as us postal charges - but 1 bottle with dropper should easily last a year.
