Hi folks
I've been on a long road & started metavive in January. I got some relief from fatigue & my hair started to stop dropping, but I got a sore, tender thyroid gland. My CRP showed no inflammatory response but the GP refused a scan. The pain reduced when I stopped the metavive, so I started on naturethroid, going slowly from one grain up to two. All ok and then after a few weeks the pain returned, as bad as ever. My insurance (Aviva) covered a scan, which showed no scarring or damage, and again the discomfort reduced as the dose went down. I just about manage one grain split per day. My private Dr has suggested we try a synthetic T4 & tiromel which I can buy online.
- has anyone else had this effect? I'm back to exhaustion, puffiness & awful sleep (doing my cortisol next week).
I'm adjusting my diet as my latest bloods showed very high fasting insulin and leptin - I can't afford another thyroid panel this month. I'm trying the Weston Childs 3 day a week fast (3 weeks on, 3 weeks off) although I've overdone the fat part of LCHF this week as I transition. I'm gluten & dairy free but have started fish and eggs again.
I have a (negative test result) B12 deficiency but can't bring myself toSI as it made the fatigue & weight gain so much worse. Mind you, so has the NDT. I'm now 204lbs!
