Those aren't side effects of RAI they are hypo possible hypo symptoms. I had RAI years ago, didn't cause any side effects and Im well on Levo alone as are many many other people. Unfortunately on the forum you won't get many encouraging replies.
I had to rush out earlier. Why I thought she was concerned was that due to RAI that she would be hypo and maybe infertile and then onto levo which can cause weight gain etc in some people.
If you are happy on Carbimazole you don't have to agree to RAI. If you want to conceive you can be switched to Propylthiouracil during pregnancy.
If you opt for RAI you need to wait 6 months before planning pregnancy. RAI doesn't cause infertility and once you are optimally dosed on Levothyroxine with TSH between 0.4 - 2.5 you should be able to conceive.
