Please don't even think about taking Hydrocortisone, it's not worth the health risk! I had Cushing's disease due to my body producing too much cortisol, it has done significant damage to my body. I had the tumour removed 2 years a go & still feel rubbish. You can get Cushing's by taking Hydrocortisone or the opposite where the HC stops your adrenal glands making cortisol so you end up with adrenal insufficiency. Both are life limiting, life threatening conditions.

Thanks for your reply PsulineS.
It's an option that I am considering. It was suggested to me many years ago by Doc P but I didn't do it. Some days I wish I had. My understanding is that adrenals along with the other vitamin & minerals need to be optimal to be able to utilise thyroid meds. My adrenals are the only thing that are not optimal, despite taking Adrenal Cortex. I have been following the Rt3 adrenals group which is very informative, you may get some insight into your own situation there too. Yes the hydrocortisone gives your adrenals a break and it is physiological doses - exactly what your body produces (or should produce). I know a husband & wife who have taken hydrocortisone for years & swear by it. It's a real dilemma.
