Gillybabe,

You are undermedicated. Dose needs increasing to 75mcg.

Thanks Clutter. What would I do without this forum. Lets hope doctor thinks so on Monday when I have a telephone appointment with her. Cannot get normal appointment for three weeks.

Thank goodness when she rang today the doctor had no hesitation to put it up to 75mgs because my TSH had gone up to 10 in six months from dropping it in February with a blood test in 6 weeks. No wonder I started to feel really ill again. Thanks for all your support.

Gillybabe,

Make sure you retest 6-8 weeks after increasing to 75mcg in case a further dose increase is required.

Right here we go again. Had blood test TSH .2 T4 17 t3 4. Locum doctor rang to say I am slightly overmedicated and should take 75mgs one day and 50 mgs next. I said I felt well on 75 mgs. I asked him to read out last tests and he said my t4 then was 10. So my own doctor got it wrong when she said my tsh was 10 last time but it was 6.9. However the last test reading of t4 10 was low. So I have insisted on staying on 75 mgs a day as I feel well and do not think .2 TSH is bad. What do you think. Completely confused.

Gillybabe,

I need to see the lab ref ranges to see whether any of the results are out of range. TSH 0.2 may be below range which may be why the locum said you are over medicated but if T4 and T3 are within range then you are not overmedicated.

T4 is 17 and T3 is 4. They work medway ranges. Tsh 0.35 to 3.3 t4 9 to 25 t3 is 3.5 to 6.5

Gillybabe,

TSH 0.2 is below range but isn't technically suppressed which would be <0.1. FT4 and FT3 are well within range so you are not overmedicated and there's no reason to reduce dose from 75mcg.

Thanks Clutter. I did try to tell pharmacist practitioner at the Practice this happened before when I went on 50 mgs. But now my body has to do catch up. Will definitely go for test. Doctor has already written the blood test form out for six weeks.

I have noticed on lower dose I got dark rings under my eyes. Will these go now on higher dose and how long will it take for higher dose to get into my system. It took six months on lower dose to go underactive. Will it take the same time to feel better.
