Seeking a little bit of specific advice...I'm searching for a consultant in Scotland, possibly (inevitably?) private, who understands the link between Hypothyroidism and Tinnitus. My GP hasn't a scoobie and has sent me off to 'do my own research'. Thanks Doc.
Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated.

I'm on Levo and been assured all tests fall within accepted parameters. My B12 is sitting at 309. I've tried to talk to my GP about one size not fitting all...but didn't get anywhere (I know I'm not alone in that!).
For us hypo the recommendation of B12 is 1,000 to try to prevent alziemers/dementia. A result for B12 is 'in range' but I doubt doctors know how important B12 (and Vit D) are for our bodies. They are both prohormones with essential work to do. If B12 is below 500 it causes changes in the cerbral spinal fluid. I shall also give you some links I've posted before.
We do not want tests to fall within 'parameters' we need ALL results to be optimal.
There was a great doctor in Scotland but he died of a stroke, and all his patients throughout UK were devasted. He was Dr Skinner and knew how to treat patients.
If supplementing with B12 it has to be sublingual methylcobalamin B12. I've found Amazon has a selection. Some chemists don't stock sublingual an as we usually have stomach issues, sublingual is best.
Anything under 500 can cause neurological problems.
As Shaws has suggested, sublingual methylcobalamin lozenges are a good idea and with your level I would start with 5000mcg daily, finish the bottle then buy some 1000mcg. There is Solgar but that seems to have become rather expensive, have a look at Jarrow's, that is often recommended here.
When taking B12 we also need to take a B Complex to balance all the B vitamins.
Also, never take a doctor's word for results being fine/OK/normal/within parameters. It's optimal we need. In the UK we are legally entitled to copies of our test results, so ask your surgery for a print out. I'd put money on you not being optimally medicated! Post your results, with reference ranges, when you have them and members will comment.
If you've had any other tests done, get those results too. Optimal levels of vitamins and minerals are very important for us Hypos, so Vit D, folate and ferritin , any other iron tests, anything at all.
