T3 vs Elthroxin

Hello again,

I am wondering if anyone has tried Eltroxin as an alternative to T3?

I've been told it is similar but I've never heard of it.

Anyone?

Eltroxin is Levothyroxine.

Eltroxin is the Brand name of levothyroxine and the others are generic levo. Many people preferred Eltroxin to levothyroxine. Eltroxin is T4 only as is levothyroxine.

They withdrew Eltroxin for some reason quite a while ago and those who took it were very upset to go onto generic levothyroxine as it didn't suit them so well. Even though the authorities usually state that one levo is the same as another. Not to the patients.

I was offered it as an alternative but I'm a brand name snob so didn't investigate more 🙈

There has to be a reason why 'brands' are a bit more expensive than generic.
