Does anyone know of a Doctor in Glasgow who is good with at detecting under active thyroids...as I believe my brother has one but his own GP says his test is ok..I have trouble believing this as it runs in my family and GP'S don't take a lot ot trouble with tests????

Hypothyroidism is diagnosed via blood tests. Okay is an opinion, not a result. If you post your brother's results and ranges members will advise whether or not his thyroid levels are good.
Explain to him that doctors often say normal when you are in range but it's where in the range that is important.
