Hello, I was just wondering has anyone put weight on with hyper??? I've gone from a size 10 to 16 in a space of a year and a half.

Thanks in advance :)

Most often there is an assumption that people who are hypothyroid put on weight, whereas those who are hyperthyroid lose weight.

All sorts of factors make that unreliable.

It is sometimes reported that hyperthyroid people have increased appetite, and possible absorb food better. And, when treated for hyperthyroidism, they end up with low levels of thyroid hormone - effectively hypothyroid.

I assume that you are being treated? What medicines are you taking - including doses?

Do you have nay blood test results - including reference ranges?

The more 'hypo 'I have been the skinnier I am ...i think maybe it is down to food absorption that can be a problem when hypo...there are no set rules .

Hypothyroidism can cause muscle loss - which is sometimes not very obvious to others.

Agreed - we are all different!

T4 - 34.1 (11-25)

TSH - 0.01 0.27-4.20).

I went into hospital this week for

Seizures ( I don't have epilepsy- cause is unknown right now) but an endo came to see as the neurology doctor called my surgery for

My history... I was but on carbimazole and need to see the doc in 06 weeks ... he mentioned hyper .. but also mentioned other testing ... so I'm not actually sure what's next tbh x

How are your adrenals? Low cortisol can cause weight gain. I am hypo and have problems keeping weight on, so things are not as straightforward as they seem.
