You don't 'take' tahini paste, you eat it - usually in hummus, but in lots of other middle eastern dishes, too.
It's made from sesame seeds, which are high in calcium. So, yes, eating sesame seeds in any form would help raise calcium, if it's low.
So, like any other food, it should be consumed one hour away from thyroid hormone.
