Do cast iron skillets work for iron deficiency?

I don't know but Google "Lucky Iron Fish", they are supposed to be good.

I was literally just looking at that! I guess the problem might be knowing exactly how much iron you get, from either the fish or a skillet. I like the idea though.

What did work was the content of the skillets: The food, generally, was fresh and had a much better mineral content than todays. Applies to meat and vegs and fruit and grains. Plus an absence of chemicals.

Sip,

If the skillet is well seasoned and sealed probably not but cast iron pans for cooking veg and soups and stews etc. should impart some iron into the food.

Yes they increase the iron content of some foods.

I have read about iron cooking pots etc. I have a French casserole dish made from Iron but it is coated with enamel. If you goggle there is lots of info about iron pots. Years ago people cooked with iron pots which leaked out and caused them health problems.
