I was prescribed low dose Levothyroxine (25mg) which I started taking 8 days ago. From day 5 I have been experiencing severe stomach cramps and just wondered whether anyone else has had the same?

Stomach cramps
I've not normally had stomach cramps from thyroid meds, normally other things. I did recently have a problem with one of the brands called Teva. Bugged my kidneys hugely. You could maybe try another brand and see if the same thing happens.
My digestion was really slow when first diagnosed - possibly just your body adjusting and trying to speed up. They will probably need to increase your dose but will wait 6-8 weeks for retest. Are the cramps worse after you take your tablet and then gradually get better until the next time you take it?
Do you normally have any stomach issues?
Also deficiencies are common in us so get your B12, Iron (ferritin), Folate and Vit D checked if not already done so
It sounds like an allergy to a filler. Tablets include fillers to bulk them up and also to make them stable. Have a word with the pharmacist as they should give you some guidance. Unfortunately each brand uses more than one filler so the first brand change may not solve the problem but there should be one that suits but it may take some time to sort it.
There is a liquid one without fillers but only given if all else fails as it's quite expensive.
Once you get one that suits ask the pharmacy to putit on your record notes and to make sure ask the doctor to name the one of choice on your prescription. When I was in the same boat the pharmacist suggested I worked up to a month in hand by requesting your next subscription a couple of days early. She was worried if they ever had problems getting it.
