New levothyrox formula

Just wondering if anyone else is taking the new levo formula from Merck. I've been on it about 2 or 3 weeks and so far gained three kilos. 😩

You should advise your GP and pharmacist and ask your pharmacist to switch you back to your previous Levothyroxine make. In the UK we have a Yellow card system to report adverse drug reactions. Perhaps there is something similar in France you can use to report your weight gain.

Thank you. I don't know if we have the yellow card or something like it here in France. I'm due to get bloods done in two weeks.

I've just noticed my new Teva Levothyroxine says they are a new formula. Does anyone know what has been changed and why? I'm a bit concerned about changing to a new version.

It's a more stable release over the day. And the lactose has been removed. That's for mine and I imagine it's the same with yours.

Teva was reformulated and released in Oct 2016 after it was withdrawn in 2011 or 2012. If it doesn't suit tell your pharmacist and ask to be switched to your previous make and make a Yellow Card report yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

The Pharmacist told me its money and he said mannitol is bad !!

I live in France my levels are

TSH 6,350 ( 0,270.........4,200 )

T4 12,6 ( 12,0 ...........22,0 )

I had this after using this brand for years ! i was terrible burping all the time and woke up with pain in my chest neck and behind my ears like heartburn or intergestion which i have never suffered with , i stopped after 6 days and left it for 5 day with out taking any medication .Had a blood test , doc calling me in tomorrow , i now used L-Henning sanofi which is just the same as the old Merk been on that new brand for 5 days so far and ok.

Not looking forward to what my Doc is going to do tomorrow .

I am on a no sugar and carb diet and find it fine and have lost 3 kg in 5 weeks but feel like i have loads of energy and feel alive .

will up date after seeing the Doc tomorrow .
