Hi I was just wondering if anyone else has either rhinitis or rosecea. I have recently developed both and I read that hormone imbalance like with hypothyroidism might cause rhinitis.
Anyone?
Thanks

Hi. I have recently developed rosecea yes! And I hate it! I've tried two of the antibiotic creams and have also tried lymecycline antibiotics. The creams haven't helped at all but the antibiotics have calmed it down lots but I still have it significantly.
Someone on here, who also had rosacea told me they believed it was caused by gut issues (which are mentioned as being common alongside thyroid issues a lot on here)- I am coeliac so am completely gluten free but have been struggling with what I suspect are lactose intolerance symptoms recently, so I wonder if that th gut issues may indeed be the link?? What are your thoughts?
I have a rash-type effect on my cheeks and it has spread across my chin area and a bit on my nose over time... I thought it was rosecea when it first started. But a few years later and with a recent diagnosis of autoimmune hypothyroidism, and some arthritis symptoms, and with more understanding of autoimmune diseases I am wondering if I have Lupus! This is very similar to rheumatoid arthritis but a key difference with Lupus is a red rash that spreads like a butterfly across the face the rash I have is red bumps and a bit scaly and increases with heat/sun. If you have one autoimmune disease it can open you up to having more autoimmune diseases. So I would ask is it really just roseacea?
I have both and this was long before diagnoses of hypothyroid. on 25 mg which helped the rhinitis
Hi, I have rhinitis, I've had it most of my life and had an operation about 30 years ago to straighten my nose and reduce the tissues.I could breathe great for a while, but it gradually got worse again. This was before I had my thyroid removed, which was about 16 years ago.Now I have to use a nose spray all year round.
