Hi. I probably won't talk to the doctor for a while and would like to know what these results might mean please?

Baseline cortisol 160

After 30 minutes 470

I was very stressed on the morning of having it done if this makes a difference?

I was told by the nurse that if the baseline doubles or more then that's a normal response, but please do check that with the GP/clinic.

You need to include ranges and the 60 min result too.

I know the first result was classed as low but not sure of the range. For the second result I was under but not by much the range starts at 480.

Are you taking the contraceptive pill?

Or taking any DHEA?

If you are the test is invalid

Thanks. No I'm not in anything apart from thyroxine.

The nurse told me anything less than 480 was inadequate based on their lab. But I'm only just behind and I was more to start with. So wondering what that means.

I was told the results are higher if stressed which defeats the object of the exercise!

I thought this would be the case, which in fact means my Base level is probably actually lower than 160.
