Hello Annie,
Welcome to the forum.
Sorry to hear that you are having problems with fibromyalgia.
Quite a few of us here have been diagnosed with it too. ( not myself) but there is some suggestion that fibromyalgia can be linked to hypothyroidism and low FT3 levels.
I don't have fibromyalgia but I am crippled with foot pain which improves daramatically when my FT3 levels are higher.
Do you have your recent thyroid blood levels and ranges?
TSH, FT4 and FT3?
What medication are you taking and what dosage?
Are you under the care of an endocrinologist or GP?
The more information you can supply the better.
Others will be along soon to share their experiences.
Thank you Joesmum for your welcome.
I see an endo for the Riedels Thyroiditis and the GP for all other thyroid issues.
In January my blood test indicated that I was being over medicated on levo but 8 wks later it was ok so I guess I was having a storm/flare up as I had symptoms including fast heartbeat night sweats feeling sick etc. I will be having another blood test in 2 wks.
Interestingly though all my blood tests come back showing a high CRP level and it hasn't been in the normal range since approx. 2009 when I was diagnosed with Riedels. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos due to the antibodies in my blood and subsequently hypothyroidism before my Riedels diagnosis.
I know Riedels is rare and I have just spent 7 yrs taking prednisolone and tamoxifen to control the fibrosis it causes and also took adcal d3 for hypoparathyroidism.
The reason I looked here is because I want to know that the symptoms I experience are of the 'norm' and others experience them too, and that its not all in my head if that makes sense.
Thank you again x
Hi Annie,
Can you post your latest blood results on here? What the GP is telling you is normal most likely isn't. It will be very important that you are optimally medicated.
As for others experiences and symptoms, massive range. Fibromyalgia is common, exhaustion, hairloss, gut issues, heart issues, skin issues the list goes on...
Do you follow a gluten, casein (in milk) free diet? Very helpful with Hashimotos.
The high CRP shows active inflammation which would follow with Hashimotos.
