Could they be related? Thyroid has been a mess for 20 years. My doc can't get it regulated. I'm tired of messing around. Advice?

Coating on tongue, hypoththyorid
Welcome to our forum and you will soon pick up information from the members, many of whom have 'been there - done that'.
First thing to do is request a new blood test - a Full One. GP may not or lab if TSH is 'in rang'. You can get a private home blood tests from our recommended labs.
Tests should be the earliest possible, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a 24 hour gap approx, between your last dose of levothyroxine and the test and take afterwards.
Tests should be TSH, T4, T3, Free T4 and Free T3. What your GP wont or lab wont do, a private lab can. Your GP should test B12,Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate.
Get a print-out and make sure the ranges are stated. These are important as labs differ in their testing machines.
Doctors are apt to look only at the TSH and adjust up/down/up down. However, if we had a TSH taken every hour of the day it would be different as the TSH varies throughout the 24 hours.
Post your results for comments and I'll give a link for labs. FT4 and FT3 are particularly important:-
FT4 = FREE T4
Thyroid hormones not bound to proteins. FT4 lowers when the thyroid is struggling.
The approx. reference range for this test is 10 to 24
FT3 = FREE T3
T4 converts to T3 and is the only thyroid hormone actually used by the body's cells.
The approx. reference range for Free T3 is 4 to 8.3
