Hello Everyone
Just wondering about my results in December. Was on 100mg then this increased to 125mg after these results?
Is this enough increase in medication to match the results?
Many Thanks for any replies

When we are given increases of thyroid hormones, it is how 'we feel' on a particular dose rather than a dot on a piece of paper.
You should have a blood test every six weeks, the earliest possible, fasting (you can drink water) and allow a gap of 24 hours between your last dose and the test and take afterwards. The aim is to have a TSH of 1 or lower, with a high Free T4 and FreeT3. They did take your FT4 level which is too low to convert to sufficient T3. T4 (levothyroxine) is inactive and converts to T3. T3 is the active hormone rquired in all our receptor cells.
((I am not medically qualified and have hypothyroidism - which was undiagnosed/untreated).
Yes. Your doctor has done the right thing to increase. When levo is increased it is done in 25 mcg increments. However...........you should have had another blood test 6-8 weeks after this increase to see if this increase is adequate or not. How are you feeling?
Might be an idea to go back to the GP and ask for that blood test! Unfortunately the NHS only seems to test TSH and T4. It doesn't tell the whole story. If you want things to be more comprehensive most of us have had to resort to private testing to get the full picture and therefore a plan to help ourselves (hopefully with the GP on board too!).
Also ask for vitamin D, folate, ferritin & B12 levels to be checked - very common to be low & this prevents cells using the thyroid hormones
Do you know if you also have high antibodies? The cause of this is Hashimotos- autoimmune thyroid.
If you do have Hashimotos then often there are gut issues & food intolerances- usually gluten
Masses of posts on here all about Hashimotos
See Thyroid UK website too
