body temperature and thermometer

Hi,

Upon waking my body temperature is between 97.2 and 97.4 (before taking my meds). During the day it's usually in the 97.6 range and mid-afternoon 98.6. Am I still very hypo?

Where can I buy the old-fashioned mercury thermometer please?

Thanks for reading. :)

Blood tests, not your temperature, determine whether you are hypothyroid, hyperthyroid or euthyroid

The average normal body temperature is generally accepted as 98.6°F (37°C). Some studies have shown that the "normal" body temperature can have a wide range, from 97°F (36.1°C) to 99°F (37.2°C). A temperature over 100.4°F (38°C) most often means you have a fever caused by an infection or illness.31 Jan 2015Body temperature norms: MedlinePlus Medical Encyclopedia medlineplus.gov/ency/articl...

I believe mercury thermometers were discontinued for safety reasons.

You could try a Geratherm Thermometer from Amazon Ga_Ling . I find it very good. It is an oral Thermometer but not mercury.

Personally I never bother taking temperature unless I felt really really ill. If you feel reasonably OK, just get on with your day and don't worry about what is, after all, just normal daily fluctuations in temperature that everyone experiences.
