Hi rocky 123, we find very often that if your hypo you suffer with sleep disturbances,i know I do and if I get stressed it gets worse, there are a few things you could try. I'm told taking magnesium at night is supposed to be calming, also recommend to me was a lavender candle to burn in the evening and I found that it did help,or camomile tea if you don't mind the taste try adding a bit of honey makes it more palatable.its important that your meds are optimal as this is the most likely thing to give interrupted sleep. Hope some of these suggestions help you.

Adrenal issues will compromise sleep. Doc described it as wired and tired. Consistent Awakening at 3 am is a sure sign. Crashing late afternoon another sign.

Would you be kind enough to recommend an adrenal supplement which might help with sleep? So many on the market don't know which to go for! - Thanks

Just make sure the candle is made of beeswax. Standard candles are made of paraffin which is a petroleum by product and they emit toxic fumes which are harmful especially for the thyroid.

Have you got copies of recent thyroid tests?

You may not be on quite the right amount of levothyroxine

Do you have high antibodies- if so this is Hashimotos. Lots of posts on here about Hashimotos

Also have you had levels of vitamin D, B12, folate and ferritin checked? Very common for these to be low when hypo

Low Vitamin D can affect sleep, as can low magnesium

Many on here find supplementing magnesium very beneficial. Usually taken in the evening as it is calming & can make you sleepy. Must be at least 4 hours away from taking Levo

How & when you take Levo is also important- should be on empty stomach and then nothing apart from water for at least an hour after. Many take on waking, but many take at bedtime. Surprisingly it may even improve sleeping. If take at bedtime, take magnesium very early evening 4 plus hours away

When you get repeat Thyroid blood tests - always get blood test as early as possible, fasting and don't take Levo in 24 hours before - take it straight after the test

Be careful if you use magnesium oil before bed. I have new coloured sheets after redecorating my bedroom. The other night I massaged magnesium oil into my painful knee, I strained it badly a couple of weeks ago, anyhow the next morning I discovered a white patch on the sheet where my knee had been. The oil, although I had rubbed it in well, had taken the colour right out. :(
