I'm also thyroidless and was prescribed 3 x 20mcg Liothyronine (T3) for 3 months while I waited to have RAI. I later thought I had a build up of T4 and I spent 2 months on T3 only without improvement so I stopped T3 for a month. Most adverse symptoms cleared during the 3rd week off meds. I later read on Paul Robinson's blog that it can take up to 4 months on T3 only to clear high rT3.
I don't know how much Levothyroxine you take but a rough guide is that T3 is 3 x stronger than Levothyroxine so 60mcg T3 is equivalent to 180-200mcg Levothyroxine.
Reverse T3 is cleared from the body at 3 times the rate of T3 and 30 or more times than T4. As T3 has a half life of one day, then reverse T3 will have a half-life of about 8 hours. So 50% will be lost in 8 hours, another 25% in the next eight hours, and another 12.5% in the last eight hours of a day. So you will lose 88% per day if no more is made. After 2 days any extra rT3 will have gone and you will then have the baseline rT3 you had before any treatment.
