Smelly Urine?

Hi

I've been referred for the test for an under active thyroid. When looking at the symptoms I tick every box so im hoping that I get a positive outcome so that I can get the treatment and start feeling better.

My question is... before diagnosis did any of you suffer with a foul smelling urine?

Yes hun. Me too. I notice it a lot and it's getting me down. I've produced a smell like onions or something similar which I strongly notice when going to the toilet. I feel unclean.!! It's embarrassing. Apparently it's to do with the chemicals due to the metabolism failing us.

I'm wondering the gradual increase of levo will help this to get better x x x

I have only noticed this problem since the change from Goldshield Eltroxin. Also have a rather glue-like taste in my mouth. Have been on Levo since 1997 and it has only been in the past 7 years that this problem has occurred. I rather feel that it is more to do with the chemicals that are now in Levothyroxine.

Now you have got me wondering, I can't remember if I had smelly urine prior to my thyroid diagnosis but I certainly have for the past few months. This makes me wonder if my thyroid levels are skewed again due to my b12 injections being withdrawn which I believe is causing my whole system to go awry and am now having all the nasty symptoms I had years ago.

Feel so ill now that daily life is more and more difficult. I have purchased my own t3 and b12 to self medicate so we will see how it goes when I get my supplies.

I’ve just been googling this! I think I have an under active thyroid and think it’s been for years! Finally got around to speaking to GP and am having bloods done on Friday.

On and off for years I get smelly wee. The best thing I can say is it’s like animals or wet straw.
