Mandy72,

7-10 days usually. You said you were having some improvement for a few hours and were thinking of splitting the dose x 2 so it must have been working. 80mcg probably isn't an optimal dose. How high was your TSH when you started liquid Levothyroxine?

i did see some improvement for a few days but now its like ive taken 10 steps back (maybe i spoke too soon)

about 6 weeks ago TSH 3.57, i want to hold off o bloods for a few more weeks

but i stopped meds around 4 weeks before starting the thyroxine again as heart rate was crazy and i felt worse than i do now

thinking back when i was first diagnosed and on 25mcg i felt something like i do now after a week or 2 and was increased to 50mcg so i might try a small increase to 90mcg and see

Mandy72,

If TSH was 3.57 while you were on meds it will have been a lot higher 4 weeks off meds. You are probably undermedicated. I hope the dose increase helps.

undermedicated is right i have water retention which i also had in the early days before the increase

i cant do the extra 10mcg yet as just eaten so might just wait and do 4.5ml in the morning

increase did help but now feeling lousy again

i decided to do 100mcg

should i hold off for a while and see how things go

i dont want to become over medicated

but dont want to feel awful like i do now

Mandy72,

It should be okay because you weren't over medicated on 40mcg T3.

would i get over mediated symptoms almost straight away or would it be days later?

is 25mcg too much to increase making it 125mcg?

im tempted to add T3 but want to get stable on T4 first then drop some and add in T3 and see how i go

Mandy72,

It would take time for levels to build up before you would feel over medicated.
