jlesle I think (this is my opinion) that the full blood test ie
TSH
FT4
FT3
TPO antibodies
TG antibodies
is a good indicator when interpreted in conjunction with symptoms.
The stumbling block is when the full test isn't done, or just the TSH or TSH and FT4 only, and symptoms aren't taken into account.
The fault lies with the doctor not looking at the complete picture.
