Hello Deena27, congratulations on your pregnancy. Have you talked to your GP about your thyroid level? If not I would recommend making an appointment urgently today to go and discuss this, your TSH is higher than it should be for pregnancy. Did you have thyroid issues before pregnancy or is this new? Are you taking levo and if so what dose?
I'm currently wanting to get pregnant but my Dr has advised TSH should be under 2 before starting to try.
Some GPs seem to think TSH level up to 10 is ok but this is not the case. I absolutely don't want to worry you at all but you should go back to your Dr urgently to get your TSH down.
This is serious. In early pregnancy, the hormone HCG actually suppresses TSH somewhat, so that the real value when the suppression lifts in later pregnancy will rise even more. TSH below 2 is absolutely essential for you and baby's health, as the baby relies on you for hormones and nutrients at this stage. Urgently see a doctor, as you may be getting autoimmune reaction and will need Thyroxine.
