I don't think you get Tardyferon in the UK, so not many people will be familier with it. But, I think you can take two tablets a day - I believe it says that in the PIL. And you don't need your doctor to prescribe it, you can buy it in a pharmacy without a prescription.
In the thyroid secret series, one of the speakers, Suzy Cohen, mentioned that she supplemented manganese for a year to increase her absorption of iron, so this may be something worth trying. I've also read that colostrum can help. My daughter's GP told her not to worry about low ferritin as long as haemoglobin levels are ok, but I'm not really convinced.
