If you wish to search for more information, you might find you need to type "DIO2" (three letters and a number) rather than "D102" (a letter and three numbers).

If I can actually read anything, and that is uncertain as it is so difficult, you do not have a relevant DIO2 variant which affects conversion to T3.

Have you tried other things - I was always in so much pain and falling asleep with sleep disorder but has completely improved now and antibodies have all gotten better for a number of autoimmune things plus my CRP (inflammation) is now at less than 1) and all because I went gluten free. I'm also on half my original t3 dose. Only left with a few more minor issues with iron and vit d etc

I have started to go gluten free but slowly just on bread at moment as I found I eat a lot of bread but it's expensive and tasteless I will need to invest on bread maker thank you o also have terrable gut digestive problems it's hard to know where to find the root cause as such

If it helps, I had to go completely GF to see the benefits - one crumb and I'm back in bed lol. Schar seeded is nice if you haven't already tried or wheatfreebakery online x

Then if fails, you can try an elimination diet to rule out everything lol!

No an elimination diet is where you remove all foods that can cause reactions and stick to very basics and then you start adding everything back in gradually one at a time so you can see which ones you react too. I think its done over six weeks, my friend did it and found a few things she was intolerant to but yes, I couldn't do it and you need to be in the right place to do it as takes energy thinking about what you can eat lol! Well gluten free is easy enough in comparison to that :o)

the biggest culprits though are normaly gluten and then dairy. If you want some very easy ideas for GF meals that take no time to prepare for a few weeks, pm me and i'll send you a quick list

It's Dee eye oh two. And you don't have the bad gene. You might have a pituitary problem if FT4 and TSH (and FT3 ) are low (and adenomas point towards that). You might also have an autoimmune problem as you have TPO antibodies (hashimoto) - often going gluten free helps with that.

Thank you angel of the north may I ask where you come from since it says angel and north I had my be thought hyperparathyrioidism I know I have has is but only subclinically can I ask why they don't send you for an ultrasound of thyriod it's very unfair all round si thank you very much also many yes ago Fter my last birh 24 yrs ago lol I had epidural headaches and spinal tap but it does me ti om pituary in letter but I'm not clued up enough I know epidural wore if during surgery cesarean and I was anemic at time never been right since its so hard you'd think with all the technology available they could at least scan the thyriod in all those who have problems of thT nature

Don't know anything about thyroid ultrasound I'm afraid, but I think it's for finding nodules, but it sounds as though you have a problem with pituitary gland - secondary hypo maybe. I come from (near) the place where Gormley's Angel of the North stands. It's easier to give up processed grains completely than tolerate cardboard gluten-free baked goods. GPs and many endos don't understand secondary/central hypo as they can't cope with low or low/normal TSH in someone with hypo symptoms. You might want to email Louise.Roberts to get the list sympathetic endos and GPs
