Were you not given the ranges? That FT4 looks awfully high. You've given the range for the TSH, but you haven't given the result. Yet you say these results are the same as when you were diagnosed? There's something not quite right, here.
Dr up Levothyroxine to 125 mcg said niw too high. 14/9/16 Serum TSH = 5.3 MU/L high original result 5.3 < 0.27-4.20 > serum TSH level = 36.8 MU/L high original result 36.8 MU/L high GFR abbrev MDRD = 46 mL/ min Low I just don't know where I am with it all.
I'm sorry, but that still doesn't make sense. You've given three TSH results, whereas before, you said the 36.8 was the FT4. But, you still haven't given a range, although you've given a range for the TSH, so it looks like you have the ranges.
Anyway, with such a high TSH, and a high FT4, it probably means you aren't converting that T4 to T3. You really need an FT3 test done, at the same time as an FT4, to see how you're converting. If your FT3 is still low, you won't get any better.
Ask your doctor to test folate, ferritin, Vit D and B12. Optimum levels are needed for thyroid wellness, not just 'in range' as it's where in the range that is important. Same as your actual thyroid results so it's important to know where they are as well. If/when you have a printout it might be useful to postcthe results as it says on the sheet as it isn't too easy to follow at the moment or photo of them as well. Things are abit daunting at first but don't worry help is at hand.
If you can not get GP to do these tests, then like many of us, you can get them done private

Blue Horizon - Thyroid plus eleven tests all these.
This is an easy to do fingerprick test you do at home, post back and they email results to you couple of days later.
Usual advice on ALL thyroid tests, (home one or on NHS) is to do early in morning, ideally before 9am. No food or drink beforehand (other than water) If you are taking Levo, then don't take it in 24 hours before (take straight after). This way your tests are always consistent, and it will show highest TSH, and as this is mainly all the medics decide dose on, best idea is to keep result as high as possible
Thank you all for your advice. I will have them done privately and post results. Many thanks.
