I have my 6 week follow up blood test appointment confirmed at GP's after my Hemithyroidectomy to see if my remaining half is working. Should it be a fasting test ? Rang the GP's and they don't know !! Will ring hospital tomorrow but curious now 😊

Many doctors say it doesn't matter. On this forum it is recommended to fast and have the earliest possible appointment, If you were on thyroid hormones food also interferes with the uptake of T4 because if they measure your TSH and only take account of this it drops throughout the day and may make a difference in your dose.

Thanks I'm on no meds at the moment. Hoping my remaining thyroid will pick up the slack 😊
