That is, has it increased energy levels or improved symptoms?

Thank you very much lisabax. Did you get improved energy after the 6 months?

It has definitely improved. I've step better and been calmer but I didn't complete the course because of a delay on the 2nd 3 month prescription

Yes it did help to get me better. Dr P prescribed a low dose (5mg a day) ie before he went organicin 2002. It's what is called a pharmacological dose. However I stupidly took a higher dose of prednisolone when I was trying to self treat. Hydrocortisone has to be treated with care. I would suggest you start low and see how you feel. There is also a rule if you are already taking thyroid med. I can't remember exactly but I think it's come off thyroid med for a few days when you introduce hydrocortisone.

Thank you marigold22, very interesting and helpful. How long did you take it for and did your energy levels improve?

Unfortunately it went a bit wrong for me as I was self-medicating latterly. I was still on T4 against my will as by then I knew I needed T3 but GPs refused to prescribe T3. The hydrocortisone though definitely kept me upright & more able to lead a reasonable life through that period. I stupidly kept increasing my dose over a (probably) 4 year period and then had to reduce down by 1mg a month over a year. By then my adrenals had got healthy again, but I had by then been put onto a decent dose of T3. A complicated and sad story; but all came right in the end. x

Thank you marigold22, very helpful.

In my case HC helped mostly with energy. I take 20 mg in the morning.
