More blood tests !

Hi everyone.

My Levo dose has been increased to 200mg and I go for more bloods soon. My appt is at 9:20 am. And I've read on here you should not take your tabs before test.

However I take my tabs at night, so should I take them the night before my test or wait until after my blood test ?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😊

Thanks for your reply. Ok so I will miss a days tablets then? And just take them after my blood test. Thanks for the advice - my last TSH was over 20 and I took tablets before !

Taking your levo doesn't affect the TSH, because that changes too slowly. But it does give you a falsely high FT4, in case the doctor just happens to look at that.

But, having your test before 9 am - preferably around 8 am - and fasting over-night, will give you a higher TSH - which can mean the difference between a dose increase and a cut in dose!

Thank you for this too - have been doing this incorrectly for years but will be changing things from now on.
