about 7 weeks ago I was diagnosed with tonsillitis at the same time was started on thyroxine 50mcg with TSH at 36 now 13. At the same time I developed sinus tachycardia confirmed on 24 hr monitor. GP wouldn't increase thyroxine as nervous. I saw cardiologist who said possibly PoTs syndrome Does anyone have experience of this?

Sinus tachycardia Pots syndrome
Richard123,
TSH 13 is still very high and that may be causing sinus tachycardia. It's possible heart will settle down once you are optimally medicated with TSH around 1.0.
Hi Richard. I'm having the tilt table test for pots in a week. I've had pots symptoms for twenty years and thyroid symptoms for six. My theory is tachycardia long term downregulated thyroid but I have no proof and they may be unrelated'. The symptoms became unworkable after an operation and then again worse after pregnancy'. Viruses are triggers too . What came first thyroid or pots? In my case using ndt for thyroid has not helped pots . I have no known cause of under active thyroid in fact my tsh t3 and t4 were all low. I want to come off ndt and see what the pots does now. Maybe if I can do something about the tachy then the thyroid will balance naturally' who knows? YYou could bereacting to the med so if it doesn't settle then maybe you can try ndt? Take care
