As I have recently discovered I have Hashimoto's, I have started the GF diet and I know this is probably a silly question but is it possible to notice the difference in day 1 or 2?
As I feel so much better but wasn't sure if this was just a placebo as I know I am doing something about it?
Any thoughts/experiences welcome!

Thanks for your reply and I totally agree that the gut is very sensitive Marz ! As I never realised I had this sort of "stomach ache/pain" after eating until I stopped getting it!
I've just this minute logged on after reading a question asking 'how long to get gluten out of the body?' on TrulyGlutenFree. The answer 3-4 months to purge the body of gluten but some people can experience sympton relief within 24-48 hours, which was also the experience of the person answering the question, a natural health consultant. Whether it is through recently going gluten free or a placebo effect it doesn't really matter if it is making you feel so much better.
Hi.... It can take quite a long time for your body to recover from any ill effects of gluten which you may suffer from ie it can take the gut 6-12 months if you have coeliac or gluten intolerance. But quite possibly you may feel better from the fact that the gluten is not attacking your thyroid gland very quickly... we live and learn every day!
Made a HUGE mistake last night - went and had a hot chocolate and felt absolutely CRAP and I wondered why? My hot choc is gluten free..or so I thought it has soy in it. You are probably all aware (but I wasn't) that soy can sometimes affect gluten sufferers because farmers rotate their crops of soy with WHEAT! Can you believe that?
Is it possible that you are a "silent coeliac" as well as having thyroid issues? Some people have no noticeable symptoms other than tiredness, low vitamins etc which can be overlooked as Thyroid symptoms. This is what happened to me. I was hypo for years and didn't feel great and then had a shock diagnosis of Coeliac. The day that I went GF I felt so much better it was amazing - Of course I wasn't healed as that takes a long time but I couldn't believe how much better I felt
