My God the way I feel until my next appointment, I really don't feel good. I feel like my end don't care about the way I feel..really I'm on the same meds the Medical Doctor gave me from the Emergency...I really can't do much cause I'll get like exhausted... Really in limbo cause my results on blood work that I put up here are not valid as the ones to help me on what's going on. I know I have hashimoto and graves disease, but no Free 3 was done only Free 4 and TSH.. The other results weren't even done...just so terrible. If I make another appointment with another Specialist it will take another Month...the way I feel, feels like I won't make it. Sorry y'all but really frustrating.
Need a Good Doctor or else I'm getting sicker. - Thyroid UK
Need a Good Doctor or else I'm getting sicker.
Good morning, and I'm sorry you are feeling so bad.
I am hypothyroid and hopefully someone who has had Graves will come along to reassure you.
Methimazole is used for hyperthyroidism and as you have Graves Disease you are producing too many thyroid hormones which is causing very unpleasant side effects.
I don't think you need FT3 tests etc at present as the most important thing would be to try to reduce the excess of hormones in your body.

Did you also get prescribed beta-blockers to help your fast pulse?
If you also have thyroid antibodies going gluten-free can help reduce them.
Thanks Shaw. Sounds like you know exactly what I'm going through. I think the nausea that is making me sick was because I drank a cup of diet milk earlier. And yes I'm taking beta blocker, only a quartet of it once a day, even tho Dr said I didn't need it and she was wrong cause I had stop taking it and then 3 days later my heart raced up to 130 then at the hospital it went up to 150. Yes your right about me going gluten, I've gotten a few items on that, sometimes I start smacking on chip ahoy cookies, just can't resist. Thank you so much for your information, and I have an aunt who is hypo like you. I hope your doing good.
I think 1/4 bb is too low (and not medically qualified) a half would be more appropriate if your heart is racing. It's o.k. for doctors to advise but if they haven't had a heart that felt as if it was jumping out your body, they'd soon change their mind. It's a truly awful experience I'm fine now though.
Yes but I noticed as I told my doctor the side affects with the heart medicine such as blurry vision and low blood pressure, can stand the light also, she said I didn't need to take it since I didn't need it, but yes I do need it, but I noticed that with a quarter of it I've been having it normal beat. Sad that she didn't prescribe me another heart medicine after coming home from the emergency after the doctors told her of my heart rate knowing the side affects to the heart medicine. I'm glad your doing better now.
sara, what is 'diet milk'? Is it low/no fat? That really isn't a good think to drink - in fact, you could be lactose intolerant and milk not be the thing for you at all. Have you cut all the fat out of your diet? Your body needs fat, low fat is very unhealthy and could be having a negative effect on you.
Your right. Could be since I know I'm low on iron also. I don't take any supplements till I see my Doctor. Thanks for letting me know about the low fat milk. Its very confusing greygoose because I go on a roller coaster ride where I get high blood pressure that will spike up then low blood pressure, then I don't have them symptoms... Ugh..so I'm like what do I eat and drink that is good for me.
Well, nothing low fat, for a start. High blood pressure could be due to low magnesium - or low thyroid hormone, of course.
What is good for you is plenty of protein, plenty of good fats, fresh fruit and veg, some carbs, not too much fibre, and don't skimp on the salt!
What's bad for you is all processed foods and oils, and unfermented soy. Which you find in most processed foods. But, no soy milk, soy protein, soy flour, soy oil, etc.
Apart from that, eat what you like and what agrees with you. If you feel something is making you bloated, or otherwise making you feel bad, stop eating it. Simple as that!
Oh, and you could try a gluten-free diet. That makes some people feel better.
